There are books that change your life in a certain way. And those books I want to share with you. Books that have an impact and that will add something to your life and change your life for the better. This time I am sharing with you the book Ikigai. Ikigiai talks about finding your purpose but it talks about much more than that. It tells the story of people of the island Okinawan in Japan.
I am taking 3 things from the book that will help me improve my life.
Your purpose can be something you’re already doing
For everyone who thinks, just like I did, that purpose is something big and you have to search for it for years… I am here to tell you that it’s not. This was such an eyeopener from the book. Your purpose can be something you’re already doing, something you enjoy so much that it doesn't feel that big or special. Like gardening or writing. How amazing is that?
Eat a lot of vegetables, fish, and fruit
Can you imagine, if you eat 7 different vegetables each day? How strong and healthy will your body be? Combine that with fruit and fish and you have all the vitamin's you need. I am happy when I eat just 2 or 3 vegetables a day. So this is definitely a good reason to take a look at your eating habits.
Move all day long
Although I know it’s important, I really don’t like to exercise. So when I read, that going 1 or 2 times a week to the gym is not necessary, if you move the whole day and keep your body active, that made me happy. I have to say I really like this one. But I noticed that I am really used to the car or public transport and don’t walk that much. So step by step I am trying to get that in my daily habit.
These are the 3 lessons I took from the book, but there are so many more. I highly recommend you to read it for yourself.
